WE CHAMPION SOCIAL CHANGE, ONE PHOTO AT A TIME.
Our Mission is to promote and connect photographers with non-profit organizations around the world to tell the stories that drive action for social change.
Our Core Beliefs
We believe in the nonprofit model as an effective way to drive social change. There are many nonprofits working hard to drive social change in a wide range of fields.
We also believe that many photographers, ranging from professionals to students, seek ways to effect social change. Through collaboration with nonprofits, photographers can help drive change and also realize personal benefits such as experience, exposure, creative expression, and paid work.
We believe that high quality photography has the potential to inspire and engage citizen in a variety of ways.
We believe that the nonprofits working to drive social change will be more effective at telling their stories with the use of high quality photography. The result can be a range of benefits including:
- Recruiting/inspiring volunteers, staff or Board members
- Inspiring donors and grant-makers
- Driving a “movement” or policy changes
- Chronicling / documenting progress
PhotoPhilanthropy is founded on the shared passion for change among nonprofits, photographers and engaged citizens. The additional tangible benefits to both nonprofits and photographers make PhotoPhilanthropy an emerging model for capitalizing on that passion.
Our activities are designed to stimulate more collaboration and to make the process of creating and using high quality photography easier and more common among photographers, non-profits, and other engaged citizens.
