Almost needless to say, the Blue Planet Run team was excited to start their first full day of running in China! They travelled through the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region today, the residence of the world's tallest man, Bao Xishun at 7 feet 9 inches and the home of Genghis Khan!

The reasons behind the runners' excitement were varied but basically included the following:
* Returning to asphalt after a week of running on sand
* Getting to the major city of Beijing
* Putting on new shoes (especially for running legend Lansing Brewer)
* Respite from the extreme heat
* Chinese cuisine (especially for Laura Furtado)
* And for Taeko Terauchi - being so close to home (Japan) and reuniting with her new fiancé, runner Jason Loutitt who has been on a separate team crew through Russia.

In the words of Jason, who returned to Team Green today after running for an injured member of Team Silver: "Team Silver and Team Green are both truly Team Gold. The true success of our Blue Planet Run will also be in each of us as runners remembering each other for the rest of our lives."
