Day 12: Amsterdam
| June 12 |

Sean and Brynn introduce Rudy and Lansing
Day 12 got off to tremendous start as Rudy Van Prooyen ran into Dam Square in Amsterdam, to an audience of over 500 people. As he ran through high traffic areas, we estimated that approximately 15,000 commuters were exposed to the Blue Planet Run. A few hours later, the police intervened to advise us that it wasn’t safe for Brynn Harrington to run on a particular road, nor was Emmanuel allowed to run on a high traffic 2-lane road. Thankfully, our runners were flexible and determined to complete their 10 miles even if it meant an alternate route. Three young runners joined Shiri Leventhal at the halfway point in Day 12, running side by side for several miles with her. A brief rainfall didn’t stop Victor Lara Ricco from running, nor did a road closure affect Simon Isaacs’ run. Simon had to re-route mid-stream and still finished his 10 miles in an impressive 76 minutes. Day 12 offered plenty of road and traffic-related obstacles, but our BPR runners continued to run in any condition, illustrating just how determined they are to spread the BPR movement.
