Make A Difference In The World … Just Add Water!

INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISERS: GIVE THE GIFT OF WATER

• Ask people to donate to Blue Planet Run for your birthday, anniversary or any special occasion. Artwork for Cards >>
• Change for water: drop your changes into a water bottle or jar each day for one month. At the end of the month, add up your change and turn that into a contribution to Blue Planet Run Foundation.
• Give up bottled water for a month. Take the $$ you saved and make a donation to Blue Planet Run Foundation!

SPORTS-RELATED FUNDRAISERS:
GO THE DISTANCE FOR WATER

• Join Team Blue: Represent Blue Planet Run at your next athletic event. More Info >>
• Throw a “Get Dirty For Clean Water” sports tournament: soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, football, softball, tennis matches, or other. Each team contributes a minimum of $30. Each team member will receive an “I Got Dirty for Clean Water” bumper sticker.
• Training for a marathon? Each time you go out for a training run, drop a dollar into a water jug collection box or jar. Before your race, send the sum as a contribution to those that walk long distances to collect water around the world. Artwork for Collection Jugs >>

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISERS

When it comes to involving your community, school, place of work or worship, the possibilities are endless. Event or campaign connected with a significant date or specific water issue are most effective, but at Blue Planet Run, every day is water day!

WATER AWARENESS WEEK:

• Create a week-long fundraiser at your school, business, or in your community.
• Schools can have classroom competitions.
• Raise $200 or more and receive a free copy of our award-winning coffee table book on water.

“CHANGE FOR WATER” CAMPAIGN DRIVE:

• Choose a period of time for your campaign.
• Decorate shoeboxes, jars, or cans. Print images from our Artwork Resource Kit.
• Place “Change for Water” boxes/jars/cans in schools, businesses, retail stores, restaurants or around your community. People toss their change into the jar.
• Collect the change and send a check to Blue Planet Run Foundation.

BLUE BAKE SALE:

• Make a big batch of cupcakes or cookies with blue sprinkles or blue icing. Sell each for $1.00.
• Print images from Blue Planet Run’s Artwork Resource Kit.

DRINK-AID STAND FOR WATER:

• Set up your favorite DRINK-Aid stand!
• Print images from Blue Planet Run’s Artwork Resource Kit.

HOLD A COMMUNITY YARD SALE: “Clear Clutter for Clean Water!”

• Organize a massive yard sale in your community.
• Decorate boxes/jars/cans. Print images from our Artwork Resource Kit.
• Place one on each yard sale table.
• When a blue item is sold, the money goes into the donation box.
• Collect the money and send a check to Blue Planet Run Foundation.

PARTIES/BENEFITS

Complete with decorations, music, snacks, beverages and even water videos. Invite your friends to your party. Ask for a donation as a contribution to support safe drinking water.

WACKY PARTIES FOR WATER:

• Blue Do's: everyone wears a blue wig/hat (great blue wigs found at  http://www.costumzee.com/)
• Blue Shoes: everyone wears a pair of shoes painted or decorated in a water theme.
• Blue Lagoon: Pool party with tropical theme with blue items
• Blue Snooze: Slumber Party and all wear blue pajamas.

DANCE FOR WATER:

• Throw a party and hire a dance instructor ballroom, salsa, West African, belly dancing…what ever you want!
• Ask for a $30 donation to attend.

DINE FOR WATER:

• Throw a dinner party for all your friends.
• Create a play list of music with a blue or water them.
• Serve blue drinks (mai thai, blue punch, etc.)
• Ask for a $30 donation to attend.

SEARCH FOR WATER:

• Hold a scavenger hunt, with clues related to water and a water related prize for the winning team (a spa visit, a gift certificate to a restaurant, etc). 
• Your friends make a  $30 donation to participate.
