From Burbank, Illinois, south of Chicago. I'm spreading onions all around the world and trying to stay in the moment. The latter is getting tougher as the real world after BPR starts to encroach into my daily rituals through phone calls and email. Work, home, real life, yikes! These are now calling to me especially where we are now, in a place without a whole lot of moments as one of my team members put it. Actually, the onions have been one of my ongoing connections with home and with closing my around the world loop. They are the logo of Onion River sports, my run sponsor, and the best bike shop I know. ORS is located in Historic Downtown Montpelier, Vermont. I tried to leave an onion decal or two or three or more behind at every stop along our route from the obvious blue backed bumper sticker to the more subtle white see through press ons. Look for them if you follow any part of the BPR route in your travels. You may also find an occasional "Mad River Glen Ski it If you Can" sticker, the all natural ski mountain I own with 2,000 other shareholders. You should certainly find thousands of BPR stickers spread around the world which we hope will bring all holders and viewers to our BPR website.

These days are a bit like the low times in Russia when it was so humid and we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Here we eat, sleep, run and seek entertainment between events, and I have sore muscles and fatigue. In Russia it was eat, sleep, run and travel plus the sore muscles and fatigue.

We are still following Route 66 surrounded by corn along the corridor of the interstate and the railroad. I think it's the Burlington, Illinois rail but have yet to be able to read a car in the dark. The train when it goes though here is very loud. We had another incredibly humid run leaving each of us dripping wet, moreso than if we had run through a teeming rain. Running in the dark is tough, especially when the road does not change much. I've felt like a drunken spaniard the last two nights for my first one or two miles. I think it's a combination of being tired and running the midnight and 1:30 am shifts, as well as the monotony of the run. It's hard to gauge distance and the miles seem forever. The night sounds help and can be hypnotic, thus taking your mind off obsessing about every step forward and how it feels. Rick our new EMT joined me on the bike as a wonderful distraction.

I'm thinking alot about life beyond the finish line and also the cause. I pray we have accomplished what we set out to do. I know that we have raised awareness, just not how much. We have whizzed through so many places where folks never knew we were there or where we never had the chance to tell our story. We've been places where the reception has been awesome and in some not so great. In the end it will boil down to the dollars. Folks can text message 63336 and PayPal will make an instant $10 contribution to BPR. Or simply go to the website and remember that a mere $30 is water for life for someone who needs it.

Water is life. Pass it on!
