Today, we circumnavigated half way of our journey as well as the earth’s land mass. It’s a great feeling to part of this amazing triumph. There are couple f expressions going on the teams now “wow half way is done!” and “wow only half way is done?”. Well these expressions are relative on the next food we get in this part of Siberia. If we get a descent food and felling good, we feel on top of the world as we finished our first half. And that’s how I was feeling today morning at Baikal and thought its all down hill from now on.

This feeling didn’t last long, as we entered our next hotel in Irkutsk, my stomach started feeling funny. I thought this would be one of those I have been getting intermittently from last couple of weeks. But, today my tummy was on strike. It had it all and decided to take nothing inside. Output was six fold more than input. By afternoon, my expression was “wow, only half way is done?”. With expert opinion from my wife Prema, some yellow colored pills took control of the violent fighting in my tummy and I managed to drink some fluids couple of hours before we left for run today evening. Once again my mantra “one day at a time” became handy today as I finished my run with my tongue tasting pills and dry throat. I am looking forward for Mongolia in couple of days. Wow, “Russia is big”..we ran almost 7000 kms here and felt, anything too much is not good!!

After a hard hot sunny run on those rolling hills without a shade, when I see our team van and teammates waving at me just around the corner of those tall white birch wood trees, it is bliss.
