In amongst the details of our journey around the world, are numerous little quarks and variances. These can all either add up and amount to a universe in themselves or just remind us of how funny life is. From the satelite GPS log booking to the various hotels, the facts and figures are piling up. If on our journey where our 10 mile legs are broken up with about an average of 7 via points along the way, this amounts to 896 noted GPS waypoints we have had to travel to and through. Our average mileage means that each runner has already put 260 GLOBAL miles on their shoes. 12 Countries have already had our message and foot steps echoing on their horizons. At least 300 people in cites or towns around the world have probably been asked for directions or at least where coffee is by a fellow Blue Planet Run team member. While decisions have been made by global leaders, politicians and business people everywhere probably an average of 160 road side bathroom bushes or unlucky dirt roads have had their hopes dashed that they were being supplied safe clean drinking water only to get the results of our Blue Planet Run team being able to drink safe clean drinking water. Well gotta go for now as it's my turn to run here on the 3rd of July at 6 AM just outside of Perm Russia.
Poem of the day:
If frustration or stress venting along our run
was entirely done through say the self plucking of
one's own nose hairs, then I would say that on
average 1/3rd of us would be bald nosed nasal kings and queens.
September 27, 2007... and still on the run!
When I think about all the great times and places that I visited this past summer, I am also reminded of all the great people.
September 2 - Flying team colours!
With the last few days of our run looming and the month changing, emotions are swelling like I mentioned in my previous blog.
August 25 - 'Our home and Native land...'
My return to Canada sends a current of emotion flowing through my channels of hope and inspiration.
August 17 - The Wedding
In Kansas running in the 99 degree heat, I ended up getting attacked by two dogs but was able to yell at them enough to keep them at bay until our exchange point vehicle came by.
August 13 - From Camp Hale to Vail
24 Miles of altitude above 8000', mountains, fresh air, an incredible team and a run to my training grounds for the last two summers combined to make it one of the best 2007 Blue Planet Run days for m
August 10th - 'In the company of our elders and our future generations!'
On the 9th we started our running from Zion National Park in Utah at 3 am. I was up last and ran the last shift from 7:45 - 8:55.
August 8 -'Cali through Death Valley to the Red Sandstone Cliffs'
Poem of the day:
Water is sacred
Simple and powerful
An essence makes life
And is life itself.
Any form of life
Is a justification of a celebration
August 2 – BPR Fremont through San Jose ending at San Simeon
The California sun is screaming hello even though the temperatures are staying cool. I love it!
