Today is one of the two most sacred days of the year for many cultures around the world whether they remember and appreciate it, or not. Funny how life is like that and although a moment or act may not be acknowledged or respected, the nature of it is still connected to a deeper and more ingrained relationship that we may be aware of. I have had those moments of déjà-vu like many of you and have had inclinations towards certain moments in time that seem to have been set up for me or held at a distance until the time is right. For native aboriginal cultures the Summer Solstice marking the longest day of the year is only held in regards with the Winter Solstice in December.

Poem of the Day:

Oh Sacred Sun…
That lest not we forget about you during our running
During our journey to send the message of the importance of water
Oh Sacred Sun…
That in your longest day of appreciation from the flowers moving your way
A year is placed on a scale broken down like a beach washed away and put
back together
With the most hours in your pocket, oh sacred sun oh you
That puts the life of water into its cycles of birth and death
Remember us.
Oh Sacred Sun…
That lest not we forget about you during our running
During our journey to send the message for the need for safe clean
drinking water
Oh Sacred Sun…
That although with our impact on our environment… you will be scorned for
your power
Without you, water would be nothing. Without you, we would be nothing.
Oh Sacred Sun…
That for when the moment comes when you dry up the last drop of water
Water danced to life because of you and with you in its last act
Remember us.

September 27, 2007... and still on the run!

When I think about all the great times and places that I visited this past summer, I am also reminded of all the great people.

September 2 - Flying team colours!

With the last few days of our run looming and the month changing, emotions are swelling like I mentioned in my previous blog.

August 28, Niagara Falls

Running to OUR start line.

August 25 - 'Our home and Native land...'

My return to Canada sends a current of emotion flowing through my channels of hope and inspiration.

August 17 - The Wedding

In Kansas running in the 99 degree heat, I ended up getting attacked by two dogs but was able to yell at them enough to keep them at bay until our exchange point vehicle came by.

August 13 - From Camp Hale to Vail

24 Miles of altitude above 8000', mountains, fresh air, an incredible team and a run to my training grounds for the last two summers combined to make it one of the best 2007 Blue Planet Run days for m

August 10th - 'In the company of our elders and our future generations!'

On the 9th we started our running from Zion National Park in Utah at 3 am. I was up last and ran the last shift from 7:45 - 8:55.

August 8 -'Cali through Death Valley to the Red Sandstone Cliffs'

Poem of the day:

Water is sacred
Simple and powerful
An essence makes life
And is life itself.
Any form of life
Is a justification of a celebration

August 2 – BPR Fremont through San Jose ending at San Simeon

The California sun is screaming hello even though the temperatures are staying cool. I love it!
