After a very wet run the night before, my final run on the 9.00pm to 3.00am shift was glorious. Clear starry night with a thunder cloud off on the horizon, lighting up every now and again with lightning. Distant fireworks showed that it was Saturday night and party time. Memories of past nights out with friends flood my mind. Oh a lovely pint of Cumberland Ale in the Black Bull in Haltwhistle, the small town where I was born and spent the first 18 years of my life. Or lovely evenings spent at friends in Forres putting the world to right over a beer or ten. Then a Sunday morning run after a couple of hours sleep, still staggering for the first hour or so.
I think about what everyone will be doing back in the U.K, do they ever wonder about me?
First 5 miles gone, legs feeling heavy after last nights work out. The last 4 mile is spent with the doctor chatting as she cycles along side. Thoughts of friends disappear into the night. On the four and a half hours drive to Prague thoughts of my lovely wife doing the Moon Walk around Edinburgh with her two friends. My girls at home sleeping and my son out in Spain, no doubt still partying with his friends, oh to be eighteen again.
8.00am in the morning and another day gone, another hotel checked in, bags unpacked, only another 78 to go.
Hello again.
I think today is day 85, but I can’t be sure about that. I have started to live on automatic pilot, doing the same old stuff day after day.
What a welcome
So I sit on a plane for 9 hours not able to sleep, but knowing that within an hour of landing in the States I will have a lovely comfy bed to rest in, as the yellow team will be running at midnight an

Life on the road
As the majority of the day is spent in our little van we witness all kinds of events. Take this evening for instance. The yellow team has taken over the 9.00pm to 3.00am shift.
