Poem of the Day:
The step on the stone rang out in silence
But the child on the bike stopped to listen
A wave and mention in a language not understood
Became welcomed through a smile and a wink
An elder on the park bench who watches the day
Made the effort to look up and run with us
I decided to run into the Centrum (a.k.a. City Center) during our Green Team day off and was able to visit some of the closer nit inner city streets and run past the people with my Blue Planet shirt on. It has been a little secret for me in being able to use my time off to fit in extra training and run through major centers or places where people wonder who this runner is. I know they notice the Blue Planet Shirt to further promote the cause and shout from the roof tops! I also know that they admire my blue Karhu shoes which draw extra attention.
September 27, 2007... and still on the run!
When I think about all the great times and places that I visited this past summer, I am also reminded of all the great people.
September 2 - Flying team colours!
With the last few days of our run looming and the month changing, emotions are swelling like I mentioned in my previous blog.

August 17 - The Wedding
In Kansas running in the 99 degree heat, I ended up getting attacked by two dogs but was able to yell at them enough to keep them at bay until our exchange point vehicle came by.

On the 9th we started our running from Zion National Park in Utah at 3 am. I was up last and ran the last shift from 7:45 - 8:55.
