"Pursuit of a messenger, frog sacrificing itself running across the
asphalt desert
Involved definition, a destination… keep hoping and hopping
Even as I ran by him with concern about if he was going to make it
I had a mission and returned to my journey…the sound of a step, feeling of breath
Next spirit support came out with glee, the chipmunk moved as much to
ponder between each step
So much easier to know that many more I will meet and that you as my listener
Will be with me as well"
The above is the first of a daily poem and brief blog summarizing my
journey as an athlete, messenger and lucky soul to be able to run around the entire world for the Blue Planet Run 2007! On getting to the pre-run boot camp in Lake Placid we decided to go eat dinner. ...so I went for a 30min easy run and then quickly joined them to eat. Good thing as we never got into LP until sleeping time. The next few days had us go over many aspects of our journey as global messengers spreading the word for inspiring increased access to clean drinking water. In seeing the actual baton that we will carry, I am humbled to say that an Iroquois poem is inscribed on it summarizing that water is life and that through water we are one.
You might wonder where the frog and chipmunk came into play but don’t worry they weren't in my bed...haha! They came out as we practiced the
relay legs with little mile portions. Can you just imagine who else I will meet? I hope it may be you.

Water is sacred
