San Francisco Marathon Team Blue Raises $25,000
Round-the-World Blue Planet Run Global Messengers Reunite
On Sunday, July 26th, seven veterans of the Blue Planet Run 2007 global relay reunited as part of The San Francisco Marathon and continued their quest to bring clean drinking water to the billion people around the globe in need. Hailing from the United Kingdom, The Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Germany, Hawaii and California, these 2007 global messengers were joined by more than 60 other athletes supporting the Blue Planet Network as part of its “Run For Water” San Francisco Marathon team.
Through the effort, the team raised $25,000 for Project Well to help villages in India suffering from arsenic contamination & for BPR's education program. Project Info >>
Rudy Van Prooyen, a Blue Planet Run 2007 runner from The Netherlands, presented at The San Francisco Marathon Expo. After running the marathon, he set off to bicycle across the country.
